challenge check in 1

well, first of the month came and went (on Guam that is huuuuge, food stamps is a way of life out here) so I have returned to my grocery shopping. I have decided to go more often to stake out the "reduced for quick resale" section and also to avoid spoilage...esp. with produce that somehow rots super fast here. So far so good (even though I had no luck with the reduced items both of my shopping trips)! the rule is: either I really really need it or it's on awesome sale! I don't have my receipts here, so I will come back with actual numbers, for now I am rounding it to 60 Dollars....

grocery challenge

inspired by blog Beauty that moves I have decided join the challenge. I am going for 600 Dollars as cost of food on Guam is high! I will post you soon on how it's going!

not the only one

I am feeling little better about my baby going to school now, but it is not perfect....this morning I went over to Never not knitting to see what she was working on and I found this post, seems like I am not the only one having hard time! Now I know that misery loves company, but I am  glad to read that because I was thinking maybe there was something wrong with me....to by crying like that! Maybe I can try knitting apple as well, to see if it helps me any,  I need to start knitting again, this moping around is terrible!

perfect gift

it was my daughter's birthday (right before she started school) and we gave her a perfect gift...waterproof camera! She has been taking it everywhere with her and snapping pictures like a maniac, this one is one of them!

well...

it has been really hard last week or so...my daughter has started school and I have been a crybaby about it! I have tried to fill the void with some craft, but I am not feeling anything..as a matter of fact I am very grumpy and forcing myself knitting just makes things worse. So I am taking break from everything and just sort of breathing these days! But I do have couple of projects that I have started before all this mess and as soon as I feel like crafting I will finish them (I hope) and then show them off, so you guys can maybe make them too.........but for now, I will go cry my eyes out in the bathroom, because my baby girl has grown up and became so independent......silly, I know!

the ends.....

My mom and grandma both taught me how to knit long time ago, then I forgot, and had to relearn it in English...I used some online tutorials, some book etc., well actually I am still learning...one project at a time...(don't we all). There was always one thing that was little bit unclear to me, until I discovered this post over at Purl Bee (one of the blogs that helped me learn again the skill a love so much now...) and the thing is weaving the ends....so now I know that I don't have to go around in circles in fear that my ends will undo themselves haha, pop over to check it out!

bad news

so this is my favorite yarn for toy knitting...TLC cotton plus in light rose or sometimes tan.... usually order it from Joann.com, but last couple of times I looked, they didn't have any, so I emailed TLC people and they told me it was discontinued! waaaaaaaaaaaaaah, it was the perfect yarn, soft, not too many knots, the colors I needed and so affordable, I am hearbroken!!!!
